Transgene Injection Service

$1,376/per session

    

Your DNA microinjected into eggs from (10) C57BL/6xCBA hybrid or (15) FVB/N embryos per session.  We suggest starting with 3 sessions per construct.

 

 

C57BL/6J Transgene Injection Service

$1,376/per session

    

Your DNA microinjected into eggs harvested from (15) C57BL/6J inbred donors per session.  We suggest starting with 4 sessions per construct.

 

 

Blastocyst Injection Service

$1,376/per session

    

Your ES cells injected into 3.5 day blastocysts or 2.5 day 8-cell embryos harvested from (15) donor females of the appropriate strain. We suggest starting with a minimum of 2 sessions per construct and using 2 targeted positive clones.

 

 

Husbandry Service

$1.42/day

    

Your mice in our rooms are mated, weaned, and tailed, and your colony tracked with a computer database. Fee is applied each day only to handled cages (those that are actively mating, are pregnant, or have pups).

 

 

Genotyping PCR Service

$3.50

    

Fee is for each reaction by the Universal Genotyping Protocol, which requires 30 mer primers.

 

 

Embryo Cryopreservation Service

$1,576

    

Morula frozen from five mutant males mated to twenty wild-type females. Fee includes a test thaw. Frozen embryo storage is also available.

 

 

Ovarian Transplant Service

$123

    

Ovarian transplant from one donor into (up to) four recipient females, and includes cost of recipients.

 

 

Vasectomy Service

$105

    

Vasectomy surgery includes the cost of the mouse.

 

 

Rederivation Service

$105

    

This service is offered in conjunction with the Division of Comparative Medicine, which charges separately for embryo harvest and recipient quarantine. Our charge is for embryo transfer per female recipient, and includes the cost of the recipient.

 

 

Speed Congenics Service

$7,572

    

Transfer of a locus from one inbred strain to another (129SV<-->C57Bl6, FVB/N<-->C57Bl/6, FVB/N<-->DBA). You transfer the initial animal into our facility and we perform all breeding and genotyping for five generations. We transfer animals from the new strain back to you upon completion of the project, which takes fourteen months if no crossing has begun.

 

 

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

$750

    

This service includes surgical harvest of sperm from a sacrificed male donor and IVF of eggs harvested from 20 females. Fertilized eggs are implanted in pseudopregnant recipients and subsequent offspring returned to the investigator after weaning.
